Clarion snaps up Counter Terror Expo founder Niche

Ground breaking conference and exhibition finds new home alongside other world leading defence, security and resilience events.

London, 18 April 2012 – Clarion Events, one of the largest independent event organisers in the United Kingdom, will take control of the highly respected Counter Terror Expo, following the close of the conference and exhibition due to be held 25-26 April at London Olympia.

The move follows Clarion’s successful acquisition of founder Niche Events, with this ground breaking annual conference and exhibition joining other world leading events in Clarion’s growing portfolio in the highly specialised defence, security and resilience arena.

Philip Hunter has been named as the Event Director and will take over the day-to-day running following the close of Counter Terror Expo 2012.

Counter Terror Expo premiered in 2009 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Center in London and rapidly established itself as the principal event for counter terrorism and security professionals from across the globe.

Now held across both the Grand and West Hall’s at London Olympia, this globally renowned event brings the world's foremost experts from government, armed forces, security services, law enforcement, and academia together annually to debate in open forum and conclave, against a backdrop of one of the largest dedicated exhibitions of its kind today.

Peter Jones, Chief Executive, Niche Events Limited, said: "We are pleased to have completed the acquisition of our company and the transfer of Counter Terror Expo following three years of the management buyout. We firmly believe this exceptional event will continue to go from strength to strength under the leadership of Clarion Events and wish them every success."

NINETEEN EVENTS

NINETEEN EVENTS, a new entity backed by the same exceptionally dedicated and experienced management team, will take control of other major Niche conferences and exhibitions going forward.

These include the unique and highly successful Transport Security Expo, which first premiered in 2002 and delivers an international audience of Heads, Managers, Directors and Policy Makers from the global Transportation Security arena.

NINETEEN EVENTS will also launch the Clinical Cosmetic & Reconstructive Expo imminently. This major business-to-business event will bring together the Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic industry to explore best practice through both surgical & non-surgical procedures. The event is targeted toward Health Authorities, NHS, Surgeons, Clinicians, and Practice Owners & Managers.

"We are excited about the launch of NINETEEN EVENTS and with the opportunity it affords our dedicated team to expand into many new and exciting arenas," concluded Peter Jones.
